WATCH OUT FOR BİG HAİR IN TURKEY

Living in Turkey for as long as I did, you have to make do with all things Turkish and hairdressers here are a law unto themselves! As I think most women living here will tell you, its hard work to find a hairdresser who will listen and do what you want and not just plod on regardless doing what he thinks is 'best'
There are few female hairdressers here as it seems to be a predominantly male profession and at several hairdresssers over the years I have found myself surrounded by numerous guys of varying ages, all set to send me out of the hairdressers with seemingly more hair then I entereed with! Now how does that work I hear you ask? Well I'll tell you.. read on...

If you can find a good hairdresser here then stick with him and tell everyone.... Ive been to the hairdressers today and Im very pleased with the result. But first the torture... it was worse than a trip to the dentist last week... I had my eyebrows plucked and shaped and it ALWAYS makes me cry lol. The girls that do this use cotten to remove all unwanted hiar on your forehead and between your eyebrows and if you have heavy growth(lol) then they remove some of your eyebrows using this method too. It looks great when its done and your eyebrows seem to stay like that for ages but BUGGER ME IT HURTS!!! Ive tried over the years to look super cool and just clench my fists, bit my lip, think of England but now I just give up and I .. ouch ohhh and auuuchhh my way threw several of the longest minutes ever while its done. I always promise myself to go back quicker and have them redone so its not so painful but Ive never done that! I feel sure that Turkish woman dont make the noises I do, it also makes me sneeze for some reason and they have to stop while I clench everything in to sneeze! I compose myself and they resume but this can go on for many sneezes! I always warn the girls that I belive Im paying to be tortured and that I have sensitive eyes that will water and that I may sneeze but they never seem to believe me and clearly think Im just exaggerating(is that spelt right? lol). but soon after they start they realise I dont lie....

Anyways the torture is over and I sit and explain what I want... then the hairdresser tells me what he will do! dahh but at least I tried... Its done and Im sat with wet hair waiting for the final dressiıng of the hair stage and this is where things can sometimes go odd....

Here it takes about three people to blow dry my hair... yep... three. Once to hold the hairdryer, one to hold my hair and the other the brush and no Im not exaggerating here. its true and anyone whose been to a Turkish hairdresser has probably experienced this too. They can do things to a ladies hair that will probably never be seen again, but they give you big hair... you know theyve cut off hair. sometimes long hair but even so your hair is bigger when you leave the salon! Its a strange phenomonon (jeez whats with the long words tonite?) but its true.

Im happy with my new hair however, I now have a nice brown bob with blonde stripes! Tomorrow when I 'do ' it myself however I dont think Ill have quite as much hair as I have now but ıt should still be nice.

Now for all the girls who dont believe this phen o thingy well I suggest that next time youre in Turkey just call in for a wash and blow and see how much hair you leave with!

Nite nite lol
